ARTIST STATEMENT

Apostolis Philippou is a contemporary artist whose artwork is characterized by a blending of recollections with academic knowledge which have social or personal interest. For his compositions he uses painting, installations and Performance art. In many cases his effort resides between the material and the spiritual world and produces cathartic forms to discuss this huge psychological space. Some times he transfers the scene to a post-human era where he recreates it as a relic from a time long gone.
